ITA - Cache High hopes at St.Agata. Cogollo del Cengio. La cache si trova nella bella e piccola chiesa di Sant'Agata, immersa nella calma e tranquillità della campagna. Il periodo di costruzione della chiesetta di S. Agata, in particolare, trova fondamento in un documento del 753 (ritenuto valido dal Prof. Mantese) dove si parla della donazione del duca longobardo Anselmo (cognato di Re Astolfo) al monastero benedettino di Nonantola di beni posti“iuxta fluvium Astagum”. La chiesetta è costruita in aperta campagna ai margini della profonda e caratteristica depressione dove scorre il torrente Astico. E’ orientata ad est come tutte le chiese primitive, di pianta rettangolare con attigua una probabile area cimiteriale. E’ una costruzione rozza, senza motivi d’arte; una chiesa povera per cristiani poveri; ma anche una delle più antiche della zona. Per Cogollo essa costituisce la culla della propria fede cristiana, anzi è stata sempre considerata come la prima chiesa comunitaria. (Simeone Zordan) Un secondo documento del 1186, lo storico dell’Abbazia di Nanantola (Tiraboschi) parla di cinque masserizie che l’Abbazia possedeva in questa zona. Ora, accertato che nella seconda metà del VIII secolo, iniziò nell’Alto Vicentino l’opera di catechesi dei monaci benedettini, si propende per accreditare la chiesetta di S. Per arrivare alla chiesa la strada è semplice, è una strada bianca di campagna molto bella da percorrere a piedi. Mentre camminate non potete fare a meno di ammirare il splendido panorama che si estende a 360°, vi troverete in mezzo al verde circondati da colline e montagne. Dal parcheggio alla chiesa il tempo di cammino è di 10/15 minuti. La cache è di taglia small e contiene soltanto il log. La chiesa è stata forunatamente restaurata da poco tempo, ma purtroppo non sono indicati giorni e orari per visitare la chiesa. ENG - Cache High Hopes at St.Agata. Cogollo del Cengio.
