Geocache Description:

Situated to the south of the Island, Broadford is Skye's second largest village. It has a great picnic area overlooking Broadford Bay, which is in turn overlooked by the impressive red granite peak of Beinn na Callich, and it's usually the first place we stop and touch base when we arrive 'home'.

The cache is on the nearby footbridge over the River Broadford, which feeds into the Bay. The bridge was built in 2010 and is on the site of the original marble line railway bridge. The heritage trail to the right of the bridge, complete with information boards exploring the Island’s geological history, gives more background to the marble line.

It is possible to sit on the bridge's concrete 'foot', on the RIGHT hand side before crossing over (with the main road and the Broadford Hotel at your back) and see and reach the cache. I have replaced the cache again (this is the third time, so other two containers might be still about - I've looked for them, but can't find them). It is slightly different looking from the previous cache containers, although it is still a nano. There is room, however, for two log books - please be careful when opening the cache container. Please bring your own pen and replace the cache carefully, and exactly where you found it
