This is the seventh in a series of themed mystery caches by

There is a battleship gun barrel at the posted coordinates, the cache is not here. You will need to solve the puzzle below to find the exact coordinates of the cache that is hidden nearby.

HISTORY OF BATTLESHIPS

The original game of Battleships was a pen and pencil game played between two players and dates back sometime early in the 20th century.

It is played on a square 10 x 10 grid labeled by a series of letters and numbers. Each player marks where his or her ships are located in the grid and hides this from the opposing player. They then take it in turns to take shots at each other by calling out the coordinates of a space in the grid. If the player calls the coordinates of a space where a ship is located, his opponent tells him so by saying "hit." If he misses, his opponent says "miss." The first player to destroy all of his opponent's ships wins the game.

Battleship Solitaire, a single-player logic puzzle implementation of the Battleships concept, was invented in Argentina in 1982.

In this puzzle challenge you need to discover where the fleet is hidden. None of the ships are placed diagonally, they are in straight lines either horizontally or vertically. None of the ships are touching. The fleet consists of 3 cruisers and 3 destroyers.

The numbers outside the grid indicate how many squares in a row or column are occupied by part of a ship. Once the puzzle is solved, the numbers inside each of the ships will reveal the location of the hidden cache.

Good luck.
