The weather has cooled down so basketball can be the coffee shop talk yet for a while. Some excellent games were played in the high school tournaments, the U of M men and women finished on high notes, and the Timberwolves, despite many injuries, remain competitive. And a bit of remembering great basketball teams, players, and games from yesteryear often enters into conversation.
This cache in a series of nine along the Willard Munger Trail south of Finlayson pays tribute to an NBA great, now retired and elected into the Basketball Hall of Fame (one member of this series of caches is not yet in the Hall). Put on your favorite player's jersey or a team cap and get the game going.
You should find the cache to be winter friendly. Enjoy the walk or bike ride along the trail, watch out for mugglers, and be careful. By now you are certainly familiar with dunceboy hides along this trail so you know exactly what to expect. Have fun.
Finding this traditional cache should prove to be a slam dunk. Just don't get whistled for three seconds in the lane, remember the goose neck follow through of the wrist when you let that jumper go, and call your own fouls.
