Geocache Description:

There used to be a cache here, but it was swept away by the forces of naturalism. When I came to the area, I discovered that nature had beaten me to the old cache, which I never found. The naturalism in this area was so compelling; I had to return after the other cache was archived to hide one of my own.

"Naturalism: Everything that exists is a part of nature and can be explained by natural and material causes and not by supernatural, spiritual, or paranormal causes. (my IB English journal)"

In other words, it's all about nature. Nature has its way of reclaiming what has been built by humans. A common example would be a wash out on a road high in the mountains, or in this case, what you'll find at gz.

When I came to search for 'treasure trees', I realized this area was probably different then it was in the past. Although I can't prove it, I assume this area was just another grassy area of another park which happened to have a volleyball court nearby for those that wished to play. What I saw was quite different. Sand covered much of the area, including the grass. The volleyball court had filled with water, and upon stepping onto one of the few areas of sand within the court, my foot would sink quickly over 1 foot into the sandy muk. Picnic tables and benches had shifted, and some of the picnic tables were leaning into the court. As I synthesized what I saw, I realized that this had not been some strange occurrence, but rather nature at work.

Not long before I went caching that day, it rained heavily all around the area. As the rain poured, minor flooding began to occur. Waterways filled, and the river next to this park rose until it finally went over the bank and flooded the area. The river did not sign the log of treasure trees, but rather took the entire container with it. The river stole sand from the volleyball court, and in exchange, left its own sand that it had picked up during its travels. The area itself is not unlike a geocache. And nature, the geocacher. Once nature was satisfied, it receded from the area.

I photographed what I saw on that day and will post it on the cache page. When I received news that treasure trees was archived, I came back. There was still a lot of sand lying around. The picnic tables had been removed from the volleyball court, and most of the water that had collected in the court had left. I will post photographs of what I saw today as well.

About the cache: For those that are in a hurry or just don't find it worth their time to read about the compelling forces of nature, I shall now talk about the cache. You are looking for a micro, which is not on the ground. This should not be a hard cache to find. Please rehide well so it will not be discovered by non natural forces referred to as muggles. I feel obliged to have a cache in such a naturalism rich area, and I'll be waiting contently for nature to strike again, during which time I may replace the cache, or pass the location to another who finds the topic as interesting as I do or as my english teacher does.

Feel free to post your own analysis of this area in your log.
