Geocache Description:

Seventh in my Malt Hill series, this cache is hidden along a footpath near Grove Lane.

The cache is held in place, please therefore unscrew and remove the log leaving the tube attached to its host.

Please do not annoy the locals by driving down Grove Lane to the cache, it is usually easy to get parked near the co-ordinates that I have shown for parking.

THE SERIES

Around Malt Hill is a series of 10 caches over a distance of 13km on foot or 12km by bike. Suggested parking at the start of the series is at Warfield Memorial Ground off Osbourne Lane however there are other parking alternatives around the circuit the best of which are shown on the attached map. As well as these 10 caches the route also takes you directly past 7 other traditional caches and close to many more to the north of the loop.

DIRECTIONS (to/from)

If you are on foot and approaching from Winkfield Church then there should you be no confusion about which path to be on. If approaching from Grove Lane then take the path at the end of the lane not the first one on the right.

If you are on a bike then you should head for Grove Lane and "backtrack" to the cache. If you are coming down from Maidens Green you should go carefully across the A330 and down through Brook Hill passing a Pub/Hotel on your left and a large garden centre on your right. Once through Brook Hill take a left towards Winkfield, Chavey Down and Lambrook then a left into Grove Lane. You should be OK to leave bikes at the gate as the cache is only 40m from the gate and in view.

From here follow Grove Lane down to Winkfield Row/Chavey Down Road, turning left opposite the school, past the pizza restaurant on the left and then right at the cross roads with traffic lights. Follow Forest Road for 1km before taking the bridleway left opposite Haley Green Road (look carefully it is easy to miss).
