Geocache Description:

Park closes at dark. Seek only during park hours.

POISON IVY ALERT!!!!

The most prominent feature of this park is a pair of monuments to the two Union generals killed during the battle, Isaac Stevens and Philip Kearny. A less prominent granite maker commemorates an item in the park that was named for Gen Kearny.

Ox Hill Battlefield Park is but a small part of the original 300 acre battlefield. The Battle of Ox Hill/Chantilly was fought during the American Civil War, on 1 September 1862. It was the only major battle of the war fought in Fairfax County.
