Beside the Mt. Lindesay Highway just out of Rathdowney is a beautiful collection of old farm machinery. There are a couple of old caterpillar tread 1928 tractors, a working 1948 tractor, some wooden yokes, a couple of jinkers which were also known as bobtails. There is also a large wheel that used to be part of a reaper and binder. These are all set out around a lovely dam with waterlilies and neatly mown grass.
We spoke with the owner who had just mown the grass so it would look good for passersby with the school holidays starting at the time we placed the cache. He enjoys others stopping for a look and I'm sure would be happy to talk and answer questions if he comes out while you are admiring the machinery, AND finding the cache. He knows the cache is there, and where it is, and is happy for it to be there. PLEASE respect his property and if you see him be respectful to him also.
There is NO NEED to enter this property to find the cache, or to admire the machinery. Please do not go past the fence. The cache can be found and retrieved from outside the fence from where you can easily see the machinery and also he's happy for you to park outside his fence on the wide grassed area where it is safe to stop.
