Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small black bison container holding a LOG ONLY. If you wish to sign this log and claim this find you will NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT. Thanks.

About the largest gravestone in this cemetary is placed where the ashes were laid for two honoured men. It reads:

"In memory of Constable George Doyle and Albert Christian Dahlke, whose uncompromising fidelity and heroic endeavour to do their duty and vindicate the law, led to their murder under revolting circumstances at Lethbridges Pocket near the head of the Warrego River on Easter Day 1902.
In order to destroy traces of the crime their bodies were burnt but the ashes, having been subsequently recovered, were interred in this place on 13th January, 1904.
Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things."

George Doyle, the Constable, was born at Brookfield on 28th April, 1869.
Albert Christian Dahlke, a station manager, was born at Pimpama on 10th December, 1875.

This memorial was: "Erected by sympathisers and admirers of true manliness throughout Australia."

"100th Anniversary Memorial 1902 - 2002
On 3 April 2002 members of the Doyle, Dahlke and Collins families, accompanied by members of the Queensland Police Service, gathered to remember the tragic deaths of Constable George Doyle and station manager Albert Dahlke.
Dedicated by Acting Deputy Commissioner R.P. Conder, APM.
This plaque was sponsored by the Queensland Police Union."

This cache is NOT placed amongst the graves so this place remains a respected and sacred place. However the cache is not far away. Please be mindful of muggles when looking and please replace it as you found it, or better. It is not necessary to remove the whole container. Just unscrew the base to access the log.

JIMMYPROJECT took FTF honours for this cache. Congratulations!
