Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Cache is placed in accordance with the GAGB New Forest Guidelines in which there is a strict proviso that NO NIGHT caching is allowed.
The cache is just under a mile from Eyeworth Pond car park (N50 55.830 W001 40.536). Can be approached from other car parks to make a longer walk if preferred. It can be a bit squishy under foot in winter although there are routes round the soggy areas.
We have placed this cache in memory of our beautiful yellow lab Bonnie, a most gentle, loving companion, who loved her walks in this area.
Eyeworth Pond was originally a reservoir for a nearby gunpowder works but is now a beautiful place to enjoy a picnic and watch the water fowl.
The cache is placed in Dark Hat Wood which is a small A & O wood on Homy Ridge that contains many beautiful Oaks and Holly.
Enjoy the views and explore the wood with its amazing old trees.
Please respect the no night caching rule to enable us to continue to enjoy Geocaching within the New Forest.
