Mercian Way
Mercian Way – National Cycle Network Route 45
In The Dog House Eardington.
Route 45 is part of the award-winning National Cycle Network. The full route runs from Salisbury to Chester; the section of the route which runs through Shropshire is called the Mercian Way.
The route runs through the former Kingdom of Mercia, once ruled by the powerful Offa, the first man to claim the title of King of England. Commemorating this turbulent past, cast-iron Mercian Warriors are positioned at strategic points along the trail.
These caches are placed along the network to link up with existing caches; the route follows roads tracks and a disused railway. Please consider other users, whether on foot, cycle or horseback.
This is also an invitation for other cachers to continue to add more till the route is complete.
Leaflets are available to download in PDF format with all relevant info for each section.

I have teamed up with Team-Oliver and blokiebloke to start this new series off. There will be a mixture of caches most being clip boxes, because of the number of caches required, but also some fun micro’s and Nano’s so bring tweezers and a pen, oh! And some of those blokiebloke tubes. He tells me he uses them at work, so no short supply then. Basically anything we can find to hold a log and pencil. This is an on-going project and we will do a section at a time.
Thanks to Natural England for the permissive path if walking and Farmer Hayden Woolley for permission to place the cache.
BYOP and tweezers.
Congratulations to;
