The Maricopa Trail (MT) is a project in the making that, when completed, will connect all ten county parks in Maricopa County. The non-motorized trail will be 242 miles in length and projected to be completed in 2014.
This cache marks the halfway point beginning at the (MT) parking location at Trilby on the south end of this 5.2 mile section that has just been completed. Eventually the trail will extend to the south of Lake Pleasant Regional Park. You could come in to this cache from the north off of West Happy Valley Parkway.
If you are walking across State Trust Lands, remember that a permit is required.
