Geocache Description:

I was inspired to do this cache, my first one, in memory of our much loved and dearly missed dog Toni. She was a tiny, wee thing when we got her at six weeks, and like most puppies took a few days to adjust to life without her 9 siblings. However, it didn't take her long to realize she had found heaven on earth at our home and it didn't take us long to learn she was going to be a special dog and we were lucky to have her. She was super smart and learned commands very quickly, sometimes I thought she was smarter than me. I don't know what that says about me but it says a lot about Toni. She was a great athlete too, we lived on Kootenay Lake then and after her daily Frisbee game x 10 she always headed to the lake for a swim. She loved going for walks along the lake, loved spending the day in the bush cutting wood, sounded the alarm when our chickens were under attack by the local bruins and always, always made us happy. She was a good golfer too. As she grew up we thought she was the greatest dog on earth, plus we think she had a little "princess" in her. She always crossed her front legs when she lay down-just like a lady and she was the only dog we've ever had that smiled. She comforted us in times of sorrow, never threw wild parties when we weren't home and couldn't wait to ride shotgun in the truck. It was a rarity when she was not by my side. She loved walking the trails in Pineview Valley when we moved to Kamloops, but unfortunately didn't know the joy of caching. I know she would've been a great caching dog. Before we knew it 16 years had passed and she had become an old lady. Sadly, we lost our beloved girl two days after Christmas 2007. Celebrate your dog's life at this cache, whether they are an Angel Dog or Earth Dog. To me life is not complete without one. Big or little, long or short hair, black, brown, white, couch potato or athlete of the family we love them all. Of course if you don't have one you are welcome to find this cache, but be careful there will be an Angel Dog flying nearby.
