Geocache Description:

Ash Wednesday Fire 16th Feb 1983. In the Ash Wednesday Fires, Upper Beaconsfield had the highest Human Fatalities of 21 and there are other caches in the area in memory of this. But this cache is in memory of the things our family loves in life - our children and our animals. State wide livestock losses were very high, with over 340,000 sheep, 18,000 cattle, 211 horses, goats, pigs, donkeys and deer. Hundreds of kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and possums, including many endangered species of birds and reptiles. There was also personal loss which can't be measured of family pets and this cache is in memory of them. Hence this cache is filled with children, dog (pooche) and cat (moggy) items so try to swap with cache theme. Hope you enjoy our family cache! Please note track is a little bit steep, so good shoes not thongs are advised. There are two entries to this track and either entry relate to cache details. This is our first cache we have ever placed so we hope you enjoy it. Original swaps were T-Shirt, Dog & Cat Toys and 2 x Children's toys + a log book and pen (in plastic bag) After checking on cache after heavy rainfalls its very slippery so please be careful - probably better to enter from top end going down to cache rather than traveling up to cache.
* CONGRATULATIONS stemicmitsar for being FTF.....
