Geocache Description:

A series of caches placed with kind permission of the National Trust in the lovely parkland of Nostell Priory. Each contains a clue leading to the bonus cache.

They have been placed in such a way not to damage this special environment. You might need to move the odd rock or log, but you will never have pull stones out of walls or use any other destructive behaviour. The hints will be quite specific so try to find it before looking at it!! Respect the rules regarding placing no food or perfumed items in the cache.
If you do them all in one go you will have an easy 5 km walk with an overall climb of only 70 metres. Following the numbered order it the best way to do them.
It is family friendly but there are open stretches of water nearby so the normal precaution should be taken if you have young children. You stand a good chance of seeing wildfowl, squirrels, songbirds, bees and other insects. Farm animals may be present at certain times of year and there could be electric fences. Buggies or strollers should be ok if you are happy pushing over grass, there are gates, but no styles; the Parkland is not suitable to mobility scooters unless they are the ‘Tramper’ style
There are non-pay toilets, baby changing facilities, café and shop in the grounds.
The parkland is opened 09:00 – 19:00 (or dusk if earlier) every day except Christmas Day. Entrance is free but a parking charge applies to non NT members. Cyclists are welcome. Bus 485 from Wakefield, the 496 and 223 between Hemsworth and Wakefield buses stop outside gates.
If you have the time the House and Gardens are well worth a visit (charge applies) – highlights include adventure playground, a collection of Chippendale furniture made especially for Nostell, paintings by Brueghel, Hogarth and Kauffmann, a John Harrison (Longitude) longcase clock and an 18th-century dolls' house.
The cache itself is a clip box with a few tradables as well as the log)
