Gruvan i Bro
Kvartsgruvan i Bro anlades 1927 av Carl Claesson. Berget där gruvan anlades heter Isnärsberget. Som mest arbetade här 25 personer. Stenen transporterades de första två åren med hästar till Hälleviksstrand för utskeppning. Det var ofta kuttrar från Edshultshall som anlitades för skeppning till framförallt Vargön och därefter vidare till glas- och porslinstillverkning i Västergötland. År 1929 investerade Claesson i lastbilar och anlade en bättre väg från gruvan fram till landsvägen. Det södra av de tre dagbrotten är 30 meter djupt. Under det svåra krigsåret 1942 lades gruvan ner på grund av bland annat bränslebrist. Med denna cache uppmärksammar vi de 70 år som förflutit sedan nedläggningen.

The mine in Bro
The quartz mine in Bro was built in 1927 by Carl Claesson. The hill where the mine is situated is called Isnärsberget. At most, 25 people worked here. The stone was transported the first two years with horses to Hälleviksstrand for shipment. It was often cutters from Edshultshall contracted for the shipment to mainly Vargön and then on to glass and porcelain manufacturer in Västergötland. In 1929, Claesson invested in trucks and made a better road from the mine up to the common road. The southern of the three open pits is 30 metre deep. During the difficult war year 1942 the mine was closed down due to fuel shortages. With this cache we recognize the 70 years that has passed since the closure.
