Geocache Description:

Extreme stealth is necessary! In fact, being stealthy here will be much harder than finding the cache, as the park is usually full of people. Recommended times are early morning, during school hours, or at night (with a buddy for safety). Make sure to return the cache exactly as you found it. Unactivated travel bug and a whole US, American dollar available for FTF and STF! Other quality swag like a mini-flashlight, Hello Kitty pin and tiny Domo!

Cache has been moved from its original location due to repeated muggling, along with extensive construction in the park and GZ area. Container has been replaced with a larger micro bison tube and coords have been adjusted for the new location. Please be aware, GPS can bounce around due to the high walls. The cache is outdoors, but is not in front of the exercise room window. Thank you to HoneyBadgerDoesCache for placing the original cache and letting us adopt it! We've placed a camo shell inside in honor of the original cache. Another big thanks to all our beta testers, hykenut, kbseydel, and rella, and most recently, A-JerseyThing! We couldn't have gotten up and running without you! ~~~some cool history for you buffs!~~~ Red Morton Community Park grew during the 1930s and ‘40s, under the supervision of Redwood City’s first recreation director, Alfred “Red” Morton. While working on city parks and activities, Red also held down a full-time job as a truck driver. Did you know that in the 50s, Redwood City was considered the softball capital of Northern California? This is because Red tirelessly worked to promote the sport. Red Morton Park has more athletic roots. It was used as a training camp for the 49ers from 1956 until the team moved to Santa Clara in the late 1980s. Many well-known athletes lived in town during that time, including Joe Montana. Baseball player Don Mossi lived nearby on Vera Ave, and loaned out his house to Giants players when he was out of town.
