Geocache Description:

You'll see these waterfalls and just go wow! There are references to these 3 stage falls on earlier maps (30 years ago and earlier), but they don't get much of a run on more recent maps (not even on Google), maybe because they are somewhat remote, and were difficult to get to. But now, the ol' GreyGuru is bringing 'em back!

The cache is at the foot of a tree just above the track, and very near to the first walking track bifurcation. Each fork of the track then bifurcates again to give access to the various stages of the falls i.e. upper, middle and lower. In winter, and after rain, it is steep and slippery down near the falls especially on the downstream (right) forks. Take care.

Get there by driving along the Albert River road to Shiers Trk, and then it's about a 1.2 km walk to the start of the falls walking track. In drier conditions it is possible to get to the start of the walking track by 4WD, but this would not be recommended in winter.

A .. Park @ start of Shiers Trk S 38 30.349 E 146 25.002
B .. Turn left off Shiers Trk S 38 30.164 E 146 25.174
C .. Start of walking track S 38 30.089 E 146 25.069
D .. Cache .. track bifurcation .. S 38 29.973 E 146 25.045

Thanks to the people who have recently worked on the walking tracks. It doesn't look like it's been done by any government agency.

This is one of the GreyGuru's lesser known, partly known and 'no way know-en' waterfalls of South Gippsland series (also Cooks Creek Falls from Walkerville Road [GC35P29] and Let's call them Nicholls Falls [GC42B93]).. enjoy.

Congratulations to malikaal for being FTF, and an honourable mention to keafer for being first in the vicinity. Tree cover in this area makes co-ordinate takes tricky. The coordinates have been re-checked and adjusted.

I'm adding this on 30/4/2013
After receiving an email from another geocacher some months ago, myself and OneEyee went looking for the little known Ebie Falls (on Morwell River - East Branch, about 30 minutes drive from Albert River Falls). As it turned out we found them just after someone had created a track down to them. Lucky us! It looks very much like the track was formed by the same people who did the track to Albert River Falls. So, if you're interested ..
Ebie Falls .. S 38 28.167 E 146 22.717
Ebie Falls Walking Track Start .. S 38 28.593 E 146 22.562
It would be wise to use a 4WD, to drive along Livingston Road, then Watkins Track. I wouldn't go in winter.
