Temple View Point Traditional Cache

This spot provides a spectacularly beautiful view of the temple and of Las Vegas. It’s a lot easier to get to than hiking to the top of Frenchman’s. It makes for a great hike which, if done early enough in the morning, can be done entirely in the shade of Frenchman’s Mountain. I’ve lived in Las Vegas for 47 years and found this trail by accident while searching for and hiding other caches in the area. I still don’t know if it has a name or not. If not, I’ll name it Temple View Trail.
Access the trail by parking at the east end of Bonanza, follow a dirt road going north for a short distance, then take a right onto the trail which climbs along the north face of a hill for about .6 miles to a saddle. I don’t know who made the trail, but it was well done and is easily followed. At the saddle, turn back to the west for about 30 yards or so to the overlook. There is no trail at this point as the landscape is too rocky, but it’s fairly easy walking.
Be sure to bring your camera, some water, and all the hiking necessities. A pair of gloves wouldn’t hurt either as the rocks are very rough. As always, watch for snakes and other desert critters.
Please post your photos. I forgot to put a pen in the cache, so BYOP.
