Ammo box with lots of swag.
When I was a kid, my entire family would meet here on the first Sunday to May for Decoration Day. We usually had lunch at my grandmother's house, which was at the end of this gravel road. Now most of the road past the gate has grown over and the house probably won't be here much longer. I have lots of memories on this road- hand picking cotton, riding a tractor tire in the snow behind a horse, and hearing stories of the family members who now reside across the road.
Augustine Carter (my 3rd great grandfather) is one of a very few Revolutionary Veterans buried in Monroe County.
