The cache is located at the mount guy summit.
The cache is a 400ml camo sistema container. Mount guy is located near the clearwater huts,( about 2 hours drive from Christchurch.)
From the clearwater huts go to the 4wd track near the lake. If you have a 4wd you can get to the base of the track in summer but the gate is locked in winter. In winter or if you have a 2wd you will need to park at the start of the 4wd track near the huts. Their is a Stile which marks the start of the Mount Guy Track.
Mount Guy 1319m is a mountain located near lake clearwater. From the start of the track follow the Orange Waratahs to the summit. It will take about 1.5 hours up and 1 hour down.
The cache is located at the summit.
This is Alpine country so come prepared, the weather could change rapidly. Check the weather forecast before you leave. It snows here in winter so cramp ons may be required.
