Palomino Loop Trail
One in a series celebrating the irrepressible terrier group. Matching them with West Linn’s wonderful parks is a natural fit.
Originating in the British Isles in the 17th century, the Smooth Fox Terrier is an active, friendly and playful breed. Bred to hunt fox and vermin, the breed still maintains its drive and determination. They will dig tirelessly, so watch out for your garden!. Their short, sleek coat is predominantly white in color with black or tan markings. Originally in the same category as the Wire Fox Terrier, the breeds became separate in 1984.
The 1.2 mile long Palomino Loop Trail travels through green belts in a suburban area, with several access points. This particular segment is through forested area with some big trees and some pretty serious ups and downs depending on where you access the trail. The closest access to this cache provides this easiest walking. Elsewhere on this loop there are some steeper, sloped sections, and when wet the uneven sections can be slippery.
Stocked with some swag, and for the first finder, a hand-made brass Smooth Fox Terrier FTF Prize. GPS can be bouncy in this area. Watch for joggers and muggles on the trails, and please replace cache carefully, and right side up!
