At the fourth annual Caching Fools Unite! event in Wilmington, I had the honor? of bringing home the grand prize for the best caching fool story.
You see, a group of local cachers had gone to find the cache at the Devil's Tramping Ground around Halloween. As we were searching for the cache in the woods, we were joined by 2 sheriff's deputies. They had been called by the neighbors for the activities going on in the woods. They asked us to leave and as we were walking out, a sheriff asked who drove the blue car. That would be me. They said that they had to take my license plate as I had not paid my insurance. Huh? What? I had! But I could not prove that in the woods, so I had to leave my car there for the night and grab a ride home with another local cacher. And to make things worse -- we didn't even find the cache!!! Doh!
