Shropshire Church Gems - All Stretton Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

geohatter: Hi
I notice that this cache appears to be in need of maintenance. May I ask that the owner reads the logs and checks the cache to sort out any problems with it or gives an indication of when it may be up and running again for people to find. Please Log your visit and write an Owner Maintenance log with the information. The Owner maintenance log will also remove the Needs maintenance attribute (red cross) if that is showing on the cache page. Once the cache has been sorted out you can enable it again. If the cache cannot be fixed it should be archived. If there is no response to this log after 30 days I may archive the cache, in the meantime I am disabling it.

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported.

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Regards

Paul

Geocache Description:

An addition to the Shropshire Church Gems series. This is the St Michael and All Angels Church in All Stretton. Please bring a pen or pencil.

This is a quick multi/puzzle cache. In order to find the co-ordinates of the actual cache location you'll need to visit the war memorial (at the suggested parking spot) and the entrance to the churchyard (at the already given co-ords for the multi). The actual cache is not far from the church. But even with the correct co-ords it may not be that easy to find..!

I often think of Father Jack's "that would be an ecumenical matter!" here... you may see what I mean on a sign near the church gate.

Here is how to find the co-ords of the cache:

N 52° 33.A
W 002° 47.B

A: at the War Memorial... what regiment did Lt Bland belong to?
KSLI: 469 - or - Yorks & Lancs: 514

B: at the entrance to the churchyard... look at the noticeboards by the gateway... what year was Lena born in?
1899: 747 - or - 1905: 673

There is no need to cross the fence at the cache location.

Please beware that the road is sometimes busy, though pedestrians frequently use it and drivers (local ones anyway) are aware of this. For short stretches you will have to walk along it. At the war memorial, the church gateway and the cache location you will be on pavement/off-road.

Public transport is available: the 435 bus service provided by Minsterley Motors runs by. There is also a pub in the village.
