Big Trees: Cypress Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache takes you to one of my favorite cypress trees. Another cache resulting from my obsession with the Ocklawaha River.
Ok, another slog through the swamp but it's worth it. This spot was one of my favorites for years and there used to be a fairly well defined trail that got you pretty close. Since the area was closed for close to a year for bridge construction, the trails have completely vanished. Prepare for wet feet and itchy skin. They could never have inmates pick up litter out here because the mosquitoes would be deemed cruel and unusual punishment. If you decide to go against your better judgment and head out here, you will be rewarded with one of the coolest old trees you've ever seen. Just in case my coords are off, there will be no mistaking where the cache is once you find the tree. You seek a smallish peanut butter jar.
