The Top of the World at Ghost pond cache is located at the new Ghost Pond area of Beaver Meadow Audubon Center on Welch Rd, North Java, NY.
It was named Top of the World because it is at the top of a hill and when you get near the cache you can look down over Ghost Pond. It is a very nice view.
The cache is a small lock and lock with just a log and FTF prize. The cache however is not long enough for a pen so bring your pen to sign the log. The cache is big enough for small travel bugs or trade items.
Ghost pond is a recent addition to Beaver Meadows. Ghost pond is within a short driving distance past the Beaver Meadows Visitor center. The trail head is marked by a green sign on the south side of the road past the railroad tracks.
This cache has been placed with permission from Buffalo Audubon Society, contact person on site is Lauren Smith, Senior Naturalist or Mark Carra, Resident Naturalist.
Visitor Center Hours are year round Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday 1pm to 5pm. Closed Monday and Major Holidays however the trails are always open.
WHILE SEARCHING FOR THIS CACHE PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAILS AT ALL TIMES, THE CACHE IS LOCATED LESS THAN 30 FEET FROM THE TRAIL AND THERE IS NO NEED TO LEAVE THE TRAIL UNTIL YOU ARE NEAR THE COORDINATES. The cache is well sheltered and should be obtainable year round. Be sure to take the time to walk around the Ghost pond.
