BATERÍA PUNTA DE VIÑAS
Esta batería, no estaba originalmente en esta ubicación, pero debido a la construcción del puerto exterior de Ferrol, fue trasladada piedra por piedra hasta este punto, distante unos 500 metros del lugar original. La construcción, data aproximadamente del año 1739, está construida en un impresionante entorno natural, desde el que podemos disfrutar de magnificas vistas sobre la entrada de la ría de Ferrol. La batería de punta Viñas destaca por su gran valor histórico y simbólico. Se puede contemplar con su estructura originaria el edificio que albergaba un pequeño cuartel, el polvorín y la estancia denominada bala roja, en la que se calentaban las balas antes de ser disparadas.
This battery, was not originally in this location, but due to the construction of the outer harbor of Ferrol, was moved stone by stone at this point, 500 meters apart from its original location. The fortress, dating from around 1739, is built in a stunning natural environment, from where we can enjoy awsome views of the mouth of the Ferrol estuary. The battery of Point Viñas is of a great historical and symbolic value. Can be seen with its original structure the building that housed a small garrison, the magazine called red bullet, where bullets were heated before being fired.
