Welcome to the 2012 Vancouver Lake Park CITO Event!

The Nitty Gritty
  • Where: Vancouver Lake Park (6801 NW Lower River Road Vancouver, WA 98660)
  • When: 6/30/2012 from 9:00 to 12:00
  • Who: You and all your friends!

    Everything Else:
As geocachers we are always outside enjoying everything that Vancouver, the surrounding areas and this nation has to offer, this is our opportunity to help out a little and enjoy a beautiful area at the same time. This event will go ahead rain or shine and is being coordinated with Clark County Public Works. Coffee will be provided as well as a few snacks for the day, but we encourage you to bring a little something extra for yourself to keep the energy up. Parking passes will be issued to all CITO participants, so just bring yourself and possibly some of the below items!

    What to Bring
Clark County Public Works is graciously providing a fair amount of the essentials for this CITO event, but we encourage you to bring the following:
  • Gloves
  • Bags
  • Work clothes (just for you)
  • Sunscreen/Bug Repellant
  • Extra Water (always want to stay hydrated!)
  • BONUS There will be a raffle after the event and everyone that attends will receive a ticket. People who bring an item to donate for the raffle will be given an extra ticket. Groundspeak and Next Adventure and several local cachers have thankfully provided additional items for the raffle.

FOOD! There will be a potluck from 12:30 to 1:30 so we encourage you to bring something to share with everyone else. Please use your Geocaching handle as a guide. We will be providing plates and forks as well as a small assortment of drinks.
  • A-H: Main Dish
  • I-O: Side Dish
  • P-Z: Dessert

    Geocaching!
There are several great geocaches in the area and we definitly encourage you to pick them up after the event. Here are a list of the caches in the area.

PARENTS: CITO events are, often, not young child-friendly. Broken glass, fish hooks, water hazards, contaminated objects, nails, rusty metal, insects, noxious plants, splintered wood, etc. may be encountered. Older children, closely supervised by a parent, often benefit from the environmental responsibility/community service aspect of a CITO event.

Additional Assistance If you would like to help out in some other way, please contact us and let us know, there are a variety of things that need to be done leading up to the event or the day of and we would love your help.

Please "watch" this listing and revisiting periodically to ensure you're informed about any change of plans. You can watch the listing by clicking "Watch listing" in the upper right hand corner of this cache page. We look forward to working with you all on this important project!
UPDATE: Clark County Public Works will be providing parking passes for all attendees for the CITO event. Please make sure to let them know you are there for the event at the entrance. Update 6/27/2012 Here is a map of the various meeting locations and where we will be working. For those of you watching this listing unsure if you will attend, it looks like it may not run the full three hours. So you will have enough time for other activities that day!
