Terpnurse: Alas, all good things must come to an end. Please remember to log your coins/TB's. And thank you all for attending. Bradley and I were very happy to have shared this day with all of you! Look for another event at the same venue in 5 years when I have my golden birthday.

Geocache Description:

The Space Needle and baesparza, that's who!

50 years ago on a weekend in late June, the 1962 World's Fair was being held in Seattle. Unveiling a glorious World of the Future, the fair showcased fantastic exhibits such as the monorail and the Space Needle. The world took a glimpse at its future this weekend and rejoiced.

But not so for a poor, struggling couple from Phinney Ridge. They had had plans for attending the World's Fair for months, but Mrs. Esparza was pregnant with her first child. By their calculations the baby wasn't due until late July, so they figured they were safe with a trip across the Ballard Cut for the fair. However, a miscalculation marred their plans and the day of their excursion brought a screaming young rugger into the world - Bradley. Needless to say, Mr. and Mrs. Esparza never made it to the fair.

June 23 is Bradley's birthday and he wants to celebrate it with his fellow geocachers! The event will take place at:

Sanctuary at Admiral.
2656 42nd Avenue SW Seattle, WA 98116

from 3pm to 5pm

Families and children are welcome. There will be a quiet room set aside if the kids (or parents) need it. There's also a wonderful play area across the street at Hiawatha Playfield.

There will be a raffle, refreshments, trackable trading, and we will be selling a unique geocoin minted for the event.

While the official event will end at 5pm, the party will continue until 9 and all are invited to remain and celebrate with us. At that point, Brad's muggle friends, family, and rugby teammates will be joining us. There will be a catered buffet dinner. The hall has two levels. Upstairs will be food and socializing and downstairs will be an adults-only speakeasy with beer on tap and karaoke. The speakeasy will open only during the after-event, party phase.

All we ask is that if you're interested in staying for the dinner, please let us know in your log so we can have a decent headcount for the caterers.

Street parking is available as well as limited parking at Hiawatha Playfield.
