Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 1st Annual Antelope Roundup Geo-Poker Run 2012!

Photobucket

When we first decided to do the Antelope Roundup, it was just a campout at a great little lake! Then we thought, why not have a cache run through the forest with prizes for the top finders!

But that's only fun for the fastest!

So, then we thought , why not a poker run? We looked, and we looked, but just couldn’t find a format that was the right combination of challenge and fun! Then we participated in
Clay4 & Whtwolfden’s 2nd Annual Las Vegas Geo-Poker Run!
It was perfect!
We had so much fun we just had to bring this format home to share with northeastern California!

Thanks, Clay & Gus!

This event is open to all cachers and is part of the
1st Annual Antelope Roundup! (GC3BHPG)

Check in will be at 9am on Saturday July 7th at the Long Point group campground campsite #44.
All participants in the poker run will be required to sign a liability waiver.

When you check in, you will be given an official scorecard with all the necessary coordinates and playing instructions. There will be only one scorecard issued per geocaching ID and only one ID per person. Once all players have turned in their waivers and received their scorecards we will go over the rules and instructions before turning you loose in the forest!
Special tools or equipment may or may not be required to retrieve some of the caches. Come prepared with whatever you think you may need. No hints will be given except those that may be on the score card! You should be able to get fairly close to all the caches in the family car, but a higher clearance vehicle would allow easier access to some of the area's great locations. A study of the area's roads before coming would be a big help!

You will need to finish caching and return to the campground by 6pm, where you will turn in your scorecard with the necessary proof of finds from the day.

You will then draw your five card poker hand from a freshly shuffled deck and use any discards you may have earned.

Note to smartphone users!

There is little to no cell service in the area! Make sure it's smart enough before you leave the valley!

There’s plenty of fun to be had and plenty of caches already in the area,
You do not have to participate in the poker run to attend the event!
