Cache Mahal Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dutchduane: I went out today and checked on the cache. It is gone, but more importantly, there is new construction very close by. This site will be about 50 feet from the front deck of a new house. It was fun while it lasted! Cache on.

Geocache Description:

When I was working a travelling job in Alaska in the 1990's, we spent a lot of time traveling around the state in small airplanes. Our managers decided to send all of us workers to survival school so that we would be prepared in event of a forced landing somewhere out in the wilderness. On the second day of survival school, the instructors took us out into a wooded area near Anchorage and had us do a practical exercise. We were split up into teams of about 4 persons each, and each team was to build a survival shelter out of the few items we were provided, plus whatever natural items we could scrounge without damaging or destroying any live vegetation. At the end of the alloted time, each team was to have a spokesperson explain to the entire group how their team's shelter was constructed, and the good and bad points of it. One of the first spokespersons started out by saying that they did not have enough time to build a proper shelter, but for the group to visualize what they had intended to build. That statement set the tone, and each spokesperson from then on also said to visualize what they had intended to build. The virtual shelters got more and more elaborate as time went on. Finally one spokesman waved his arm, and very theatrically proclaimed: "Visualize the Taj Mahal - only smaller."

So, with that in mind, visualize the best geocache container you have ever seen - only better. Visualize geocache of the month, of the quarter, and of the year. Visualize a cache so great it will make the headlines and be featured on the nightly news. And now that you have finished visualizing, go out and find this very ordinary cache and increase your smiley count by exactly one.

After you have finished finding the cache and re-hiding it, check out the Taj Mahal of driftwood forts 135 feet to the southeast.

Cache is a small plastic container. It has a buffalo nickel and a Kennedy half dollar for FTF and STF prizes. This could be a high muggle area during good weather and on weekends and holidays. It is within walking distance of the other caches I have placed in or near this park.
