The cache is hidden at the entry to one of the most pristine beaches in South Africa. Two rivers run parallel here in Kleinemonde and both these rivers occasionally open up and mouths into the ocean, taking on fresh seawater and sea life. The rivers are around 300m apart. The beach has some of the largest sand dunes in South Africa
This micro cache is hidden at the entry to one of the most pristine beaches in South Africa. Two rivers run parallel here in Kleinemonde and both these rivers occasionally open up and mouths into the ocean, taking on fresh seawater and sea life. The rivers are around 300m apart. The beach has some of the largest sand dunes in South Africa, one can walk north or south for 13km, all the way to the fish river mouth or southwards to Port Alfred.
There is a green lawn with palm trees on the edge of the river which one can have a picnic, enjoy the beach view or take a dip into the warm shallow river running onto the beach. The cache is located next to the green lawn , where the entry onto the beach used to be for 4x4 vehicles , when vehicles where still allowed onto the beaches in the 1990’s for surf fishing. The beaches here beautiful and sea shells and sea life are in abundance. There are also several shipwrecks still visible during low tide when you are own the beach.
Note that the GPS accuracy on the day of hiding the cache was +-3m so remember to use the hint to find the cache. The cache is micro cache in the form of a see through pill container. Please replace the container in an upside down position to prevent rainwater to seep in.. Keep an eye out for muggles as this is a popular beach!
