Der Ort:
Pläne für den Bau eines Krankenhauses in Oelde gab es erstmals im Jahr 1845. Unter Leitung des Oelder Baumeisters Rudolf Volmer wurde im Jahr 1849 mit dem Bau des Marienhospitals begonnen und nach fünf Jahren Bauzeit im Mai 1854 eingeweiht.
Seit dieser Zeit wurde das Hospital kontinuierlich erweitert. Heute verfügt es über ca. 200 Betten und ist wichtiger Standort im Rahmen der Akut- und Notfallversorgung im Kreis Warendorf.
Zudem gibt es einen Förderverein, der sich immer über Spenden freut:

Plans for the construction of a hospital in Oelde for the first time occured in 1845. The Oelder master builder Rudolf Volmer then initiated and directed the construction works that were accomplished after 5 years in may 1854.
Since then the hospital has been expanded continously. Today it provides rooms / beds for approx. 200 people and is an important facility in the sector of health care and emergency medical aid in district of Warendorf.
