This is the actual place where the firebug started the Jasper fire, on Aug. 24,2000, within 24 hrs, they had to close Hiway 16, because the fire was crossing the hiway in several places, sure was hard to get to Custer for a whole week, from the west. The fire eventually burned 83,000 acres of good timber. The culprit was caught and served time for the dastardly deed.
