The ninth edition of WORLD WIDE FLASH MOB (WWFM IX) is set for Saturday, June 9 at noon, Central Time. Events will be held for cachers to congregate during the same 15-minute period of time, all around the world!
There are a few events planned for Alabama already (for WWFM VIII last year, there were a dozen events in the state).
This event, at the Harvest Square Preserve created by the Land Trust, will be extra-special: it will include a POOL PARTY! That doesn't sound too special, except -- there's is no pool there, but there will be! Speaking of which, participants are asked to bring a gallon or two (or three!) of water. Tap water is fine; not like anyone will want to be drinking it!
Of course, swimwear, big sunglasses, umbrellas, lawn chairs, beach towels, beach balls, other inflatables, and flippers are acceptable - and encouraged; think "Mamma Mia"! Donations for door prizes will be greatly appreciated!
NOTE: The coords are off quite a bit (that's what I get for using Google Earth to determine coordinates). The park is behind McDonald's and north of Publix.
Schedule for the event:
Prior to 11:58: avoid ground zeo! This is a FLASH mob after all. Staying in cars in parking lot is acceptable.
12:00 Arrive at ground zero (with water in tow)
12:01 - :04 Dump water, sign "log" for event
12:05 Jump in the pool!
12:05 - 12:10 Splash around!
12:10 - :13 "Feed the masses"
12:13 Photo Op as people recover from massive feasting
12:14 Drawing for prizes
12:15 DISPERSE! This is a FLASH mob after all.
Part of the "extra-special-ness" is that DISPERSE doesn't include " leave the parking lot". There are several nice caches in the park, so TAKE A HIKE!
That was fun to say, with good intentions, for once! 
Assuming that "Feeding the Masses" will leave you hungry, everyone is invited to gather at The Snappy Tomato Pizza Buffet, at the far end of the Publix strip mall. Lunch will start around 12:30 (or once we get the location cleared). You might want to hold off on that hike until after lunch!
Again, if you have something to donate for door prizes (geocache-related encouraged but not required) everyone would appreciate it! And feel free to volunteer to help with a portion of the event; the total event lasts for only 15 minutes, so whatever your task, it won't take more than 5 minutes - and everyone (okay, almost everyone) will be cooperative and supportive.
