This is the new Stage Stop. The original Stage Stop was located about a 1/4 mile north of the current location in the empty field. It was known as Uncle Wheeling Combs Place. It started September 18th 1858 it ended the last day of March in 1861. Although no dates are given when the current Stage Stop opened it has been open off and on for many years which is a convenience to travelers on Hwy 37.
