Welcome to the Winter Solstice!

When the sun appears at its lowest angle above the horizon, it signifies a turning point for the caching loyal. It is written that this is the only time when those who cache by night and those by day may come together in one place

The Winter Solstice has symbolised different things to many cultures over the centuries but at its core, this time of year signified a turning point.

For some, it meant contemplating their very survival in the deepest part of the Winter. For others, it gave them a point at which the preservation of the Summer glut was at hand - and it was time brew beer!

So what will it signify for you?

Although the solstice is technically at 0909, we don't all have the luxury of a free day. So instead we'll cheat and have our event between 1645 and 1745. The boom gate comes down at 1800 so we've got to bolt! The GZ is also the carpark.
