In the 1950's until the mid 1970's Friendly Bay was a very popular venue for a annual carnival held between Christmas and New Year. The carnival catered for all age groups with childrens activities in the afternoons and night time fun for the adults. There were the usual attractions including merry-go-rounds, train rides and chair-o-planes. A dance floor was built in front of the band rotunda with a variety of local and imported entertainment. The area become somewhat neglected until the local council commenecd upgrading area the harbourside area with a playground in 2011. Today there is a very informative walk around the harbour between a number of descriptive information display panels.
The cache is a small black bison tube, so bring your own pen.
