Peter Wessel Wind Kildal Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

Peter Wessel Wind Kildal was born in Sunnmøre in 1814, and died in Christiania (today's Oslo) in 1882. He was a great business man, who founded factories within different industries. To deliver enough fruit to his mineral water factory, he created a 200 decare fruit garden at Høyenhall, the largest in Norway at that time. Later he took over Lilleborg soap and lamp oil factory, which still exist today as a soap factory.

Peter Kildal was also interested in politics, and was a member of the City Coucil for many years, and was an elector to the Parliament for 25 years. He wanted to develop the businesses of Chistiania, and he was a engaged in founding Oslo Handelsgymnasium, an upper secondary school specializing in business subjects.

He had a summer residence at Høyenhall, and you can still se some of the trees he planted at that time. In Kildal street 18 you can see the doll house which belonged to his daughter.
