A magnetic nano cache hidden near the Loupin' on Stane which can be found in the Village, East Kilbride.
A loupin' on stane is a block used to assist in mounting and dismounting from a horse or coach. They were especially useful for women riding sidesaddle, allowing a horse to be mounted without a loss of modesty. Mounting blocks were a common feature up until the late 18th-century and were frequently located outside churches for the use of parishioners attending services. In the case of the East Kilbride loupin’ on stane, the Old Parish Church (built in 1774) is nearby, as is the Montgomerie Arms. This is the oldest pub in East Kilbride, built in 1719, although there has been a coaching inn on this site since 1656.
