Geocache Description:

A series of caches in various containers around the Nature Reserve

Havannah nature reserve was once a drift mine and the three hills formed the three slag heaps that were in the area. Today it is home to a variety of wildlife including Red Squirrels, 3 species of newts, Lap wings, over twenty types of butterflies, 130 varieties of mushrooms and Sparrow hawks, not to mention the swans and ducks on the various ponds.

Parking is available in the main carpark on coach lane and there are other caches in the area to enjoy too.

This is a lovely place to walk around and is very well maintained by Newcastle City Rangers who with their kind permission allowed us to place these caches.
