Early doors at the D2D park
A lovely woodland walk. It looks like it will get a bit muddy when the weather's wet so boots recommended. The cache is in a SSSI (the area on either side of the burn). Be sure to follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code (SOAC) at all times while in this woodland.
Falls a bit up from tranquility
This cache is in part of the up and coming Dams to Darnley Country Park (click on the hyperlink for much more information). It's a great place to cycle, walk or (apparently) fish. The approach can either be from Aurs Road or up from Darnley. If you carry on up to Waulkmill Glen you'll find a lovely walk, several caches and some interesting buildings below the reservoir which used to be home to a cache called 'A Touch of the Polynesian'.
A Touch of the Polynesian
How to get to the cache? Leave the parking waypoint and enter the woodland at the TGLEN waypoint. Follow the path through the woods. Once you reach the 'turning point' waypoint loosely follow the arrow along the woodland paths to GZ. You will cross a very small wooden bridge as shown in the distance in the picture below. Once you reach Brock Burn you have three choices. If it's been dry you can skip across the burn in your plimsolls. If it's been wet then wellies will do the job perfectly. There is actually a concrete bridge just a few metres north of GZ if you want to keep dry. It's well camoflaged. The prize is on the west side of the burn. We have given a clue that our geopal Rosserllwyd would be proud of. So detailed that the GPS should be unnecessary once you get within 50 metres of GZ. Please, please, please respect the area. There is no need for any digging etc.
