Ross River Power Trail - Water Source
Townsville is blessed with a great river, and some fantastic cycling/walking trails that follow almost the entire length of the river.
What better way to encourage cachers to get out and explore these trails but to line them with caches to form Townsville's first Power Trail. Caches will be within 1 - 5 meters from the trail so they will be accessible to all including wheel bound (chair or pram).
Caches will be various types depending on the hide and will be between 161 and 200 meters apart.
In 1926, this structure contained the pump that provided water to the houses of Townsville. In 1930, the pump was decommissioned with the construction of the Black Weir in Kirwan.
Cache is a small black systema container which contains log book, pencil, FTF prize and swaps
** CAUTION:- A few cachers have encountered snakes recently. Take care **
