We decided to place our first cache at one of our favourite fishing areas, Parking is available at Petro Park (seasonal) or parking on bridge Rd. There are some deer paths that can be followed and some little creeks that need to be crossed.
Being that its our favourite fishing area we decided to make it fishing themed, cache is stocked with various fishing lures/flies, container is a lock n lock knock off covered in camo tape.
while your there keep an eye out for the resident beaver, best time to spot the beaver is just before dark
Also be aware of the Giant hogweed plant that does grow in the area.
Hogweed is a large, invasive plant identifiable by its tall growth (up to six metres) and thick stem with reddish spots. Public safety concerns stem from Giant Hogweed’s sap, which contains chemicals that can cause the skin to become hypersensitive to sunlight and erupt in painful blisters.
If you come in contact with the plant, you should thoroughly wash exposed skin with soap and water, and keep the area out of direct sunlight for at least 48 hours. If the skin reacts, seek medical attention.
