With this cache, we remember to the last days of the siege of Budapest in World War II.
Mit diesem Cache möchten wir an die letzten Tage des Ansturmes an Budapest im II. Weltkrieg erinnern.
Ezzel a rejtéssel a Budapest II. Világháborús ostromának végnapjaira emlékezünk.
At the given coordinates you will find a board with the following text on it (in Hungarian):
On 26 December 1944 the invader Red Army began the siege of Budapest. The Hungarian-German defender army tried to break out from the siege on 11 February 1945. 14000 German, 4500 Hungarian soldiers and civilians took part in the outbreak. Only 785 people managed to get through the Soviet lines, from which 11 were Hungarian soldier, 1 Gendarme and 44 citizens.
The out-breaker, Gyula Kokovay gunner-cadet from the Royal Hungarian First University Assault-battalion reached the German front line near Mány on 14 February 1945.
This memorial plaque was established for the 60th anniversary of the outbreak by the citizens of Mány in 2005.

„Die Rote Besatzungsarmee begann am 26. Dezember 1944 mit dem Sturm von Budapest.
Am 11. Februar 1945 versuchte die Ungarisch-Deutsche Verteidigungsarmee den Ausbruch aus der Belagerung.
14000 deutsche und 4500 ungarische Soldaten und Zivilisten haben am Ausbruch teilgenommen aber nur 785 von ihnen ist es gelungen die sowjetische Frontlinie zu durchbrechen.
Darunter 11 ungarischen Soldaten, einem Gendarmen und 44 Zivilisten.
Von den Ausbrechern hat am 14. Februar 1945 Gyula Kokovay, Kadett der 1. Ungarisch-Königlichen Hochschulbataillon die deutschen Linein in der Nähe von Mány erreicht.

"A megszálló Vörös Hadsereg csapatai 1944. XII. 26-án megkezdték Budapest ostromát. A magyar-német védősereg 1945. II. 11-én megkísérelte a kitörést az ostromgyűrűből. A kitörésben 14000 német katona, 4500 magyar katona és civil vett részt. Ebből mindössze 785 fő jutott át a szovjet vonalakon. Köztük 11 magyar katona, 1 csendőr és 44 polgári személy.
A kitörők közül 1945. II. 14-én érte el a Mány határában húzódó német arcvonalat Kokovay Gyula tüzér hadapród a Magyar Királyi 1. Honvéd Egyetemi Rohamzászlóaljból.
A kitörés 60. évfordulójára állították Mány polgárai
2005."
