Con questo cache vuole esserVi mostrata la Base NATO Americana dimenticata vicino a Finale Ligure.
La base, che si trova su territorio del comune di Calice Ligure è stata dismessa nel 1995 e ora si trova in uno stato di degrado.
Nel luogo troverete un vecchio edificio per il personale, due officine, una centrale termica e un vecchio serbatoio per il combustibile (da lassù si gode una vista spettacolare!). La base è liberamente accessibile da vari lati. Inoltre è possibile visitare gli edifici dall'interno visto che tutte le porte e portoni sono aperti. Questo ha come conseguenza che gran parte dell'arredamento è stato distrutto in passato. Pertanto Vi consiglio di portare calzature adatte e di prestare attenzione a cocci e parti metalliche taglienti .
Oggi, un sentiero passa direttamente alla base abbandonata e il cortile viene utilizzato come area di manovra per il bus navetta proveniente da Finale, in virtù dei molti sentieri piuttosto impegnativi che scendono dalla collina e che sono percorribili con mountain bike e molto coraggio (o poco raziocinio). Proprio a causa di questi mountainbikers non sarete sempre soli quassù però solitamente i vari gruppi spariscono nell'arco di cinque minuti. Per cortesia aspettate di essere soli prima di mettervi alla ricerca.
Non è stato semplicissimo nascondere il cache, probabilmente dovrete cercare per un po' ma sappiate che non sarà assolutamente necessario frugare nel mezzo di discariche selvagge!

This cache is intended to show you the forgotten American NATO base in the Finale.
1995 the base was abandoned and left to its decay.
On the area you will find an old building for the staff, 2 workshops, the direct heat station and an old fuel tank (from the top there is a great view!). The base is freely accessible from several points, also the buildings can be explored from the inside, because all the doors and gates are open. Unfortunate the consequence is, that much of the interior was destroyed in the past. Therefore I can only recommend you to put on sturdy shoes and beware of sharp shards and metal parts.
Nowadays a hiking trail goes directly over the abandoned base and the inner courtyard is used as a turning area for shuttle buses from Finale because there are a lot of steep paths down the hill, which can be used with an appropriate mountain bike and a lot of courage (or little mind ...). Because of the mountain bikers you are not always alone up here, but groups will be disappeared within 5 minutes. So please wait with the search until you're alone.
The measurement of the coordinates was a bit difficult, you will probably search a little bit. However, you don´t need to search in some wild dumps, of course!

Dieser Cache soll euch die vergessene amerikanische Natobasis bei Finale zeigen.
Bereits 1995 wurde sie aufgegeben und ihrem Zerfall überlassen.
Auf dem Gelände findet ihr ein altes Personalgebäude, 2 Werkstätten, eine Heizzentrale und einen alten Brennstofftank (von oben gibt es eine super Aussicht!). Die Basis ist von mehreren Seiten aus frei zugänglich, auch können die Gebäude von innen angeschaut werden, da alle Türen und Tore offen sind.Dieses hat leider zur Folge das in der Vergangenheit vieles der Inneneinrichtung zerstört wurde. Deshalb kann ich euch nur empfehlen festes Schuhwerk anzuziehen und euch vor Scherben und scharfen Metallteilen in Acht zu nehmen.
Heutzutage führt ein Wanderweg direkt über die verlassene Basis und der Innenhof wird als Wendeplatz für Shuttlebusse aus Finale genutzt, da sich viele recht schwere Pfade den Berg herunter ziehen, die mit einem entsprechenden Mountainbike und viel Mut (oder wenig Verstand...) abgefahren werden können. Wegen der Mountainbiker seid ihr hier oben nicht immer alleine, entsprechende Gruppen sind aber innerhalb von 5 Minuten wieder verschwunden. Deshalb wartet bitte im Zweifelsfall mit der Cachesuche bis ihr alleine seid.
Das Einmessen des Caches war etwas schwierig, ihr müsst wahrscheinlich ein wenig suchen. Allerdings braucht ihr natürlich nicht in irgendwelchen wilden Müllkippen rumzuwühlen!
Wenn jemand weitere Informationen zur Basis hat, würde ich mich über eine Mail freuen. Ich würde das Listing dann gerne erweitern.
