I am archiving my Chiichi's View cache (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC16PE4&Submit6=Go) and replacing it with Chiichi's Memorial Cache, since my sister lost her 3-year battle with cancer in summer 2008. I have included a photo album of pics of her. Her hair was waist-long for all of her life, until she lost it during chemo. She grew some of it back again, but it was short then.
Joy was one of my best friends, as well as my sister. She was one of the most loving, smart & brave women I've known, and had a great sense of humor. She could play ANYTHING on the piano, and loved to garden. She loved her family & her cat, and loved taking pictures of them all, and giving them as gifts as well as displaying them in her home. When she lived in the apartment, her doctor gave her a prescription for her cat, Mandy, because it didn't allow pets. I am now the proud owner of Mandy, although my birds hate it. I drove Joy to all of her chemo & radiation appts, weekly and daily, and we had some good laughs & some good talks. She is sorely missed by us all!
DIRECTIONS: Take Dufort Road to the turnoff at: N 48* 08.237 W116* 50.887 Go 3 miles to a turnout on the right. This is also the road that will take you to Pend Oreille View. Don’t forget to check for nearby caches along Dufort Road, there are getting to be quite a few. This is a beautiful 7-mile drive from Priest River that can be done in a car, although you may need a car wash afterwards! I have watched 2 full lunar eclipses up now. The first time was with Chiichi. We played Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" while watching it. The second time was with my daughter, Wiildthing. I've also come up in the moonlight in the winter, and brought my sister, Liik2hike up to enjoy it, too. It's just a kewl place.
I put all of the swag from the old cache into the new one. TB was not to be found. FTF prize is with the log book.
CONGRATULATIONS to GSFirefly on the FTF!
