After visiting this area to locate a cache, we found it missing. The original cache owner Buster 1 archived the cache. We received permission to restart the cache, thus Pioneer's Final Rest Revisited was born.
Stohlman Cemetery is located west of Sutter, about a quarter-mile east of the old "Long Bridge". The earliest headstone is that of Barthena E. Gray, wife of B.C. Gray, and is dated 1859.
Cache is located in an old cemetery at the edge of the Sutter Buttes. Easy walk up to the cache, all level ground.
This place contains the remains of a few of the early settlers to this area. Not a large one, but interesting nonetheless. There has been some work in recent times to restore the cemetery, yet much needs to be done to bring it to it's former state. Enjoy the drive around the Buttes and be sure to visit other caches along the way. If you have time, take a drive over to Graylodge Wildlife Refuge, a real treasure.
Cache has log and a pen to start with. Camo'd preform bottle.
