Dicht am Cache lädt eine Bank zum Ausruhen und Erinnern ein. Von hier hat man bei schönem Wetter einen herrlichen Blick auf das Moseltal mit Trier. Der kleine Spaziergang zum Cache lohnt sich (vom Parkplatz - s. Wegpunkt - schöner Rundweg möglich), denn Trier ist wohl die älteste Stadt Europas und wurde 2050 v.Chr. Trebetam genannt nach Trebeta, dem Sohn des Assyrerkönigs Ninos. Selbst Rom entstand erst 1300 Jahre später im Jahr 753 v.Chr.. Als 15 v.Chr. die Römer in das Moseltal hierher kamen und ihre Kolonie Augusta Treverorum gründeten, fanden sie schon Siedlungen und eine Kultstätte der Treverer vor (Bertelsmann-Lexikon,1973). Funde aus der Jungsteinzeit belegen, daß sogar schon 3000 Jahre vor Chr.Geburt in diesem Tal Menschen wohnten ( s. a. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trier ). Auch berichten Winzer, dass an der Mittelmosel Rebkerne aus vorrömischer Zeit gefunden wurden. Es gibt weitere Indizien, die dafür sprechen, daß Trier nun schon über 4060 Jahre alt ist.
Close to the cache there is a bank that invites to rest and remember. From here you have a wonderful view over the Moselle Valley with Trier. The little walk to the cache is worthwhile (from the parking space - see waypoint - you can take a nice circular track), since Trier is the first and oldest city in Europe. Rome itself was created only 1300 years later. Trebeta, the son of the Assyrian king Ninus, was the founder of Trier, which was at that time called Trebetam, later the city was called Treverorum by the Romans. PERSTET ET AETERNA PACE FRUATUR.“
(„Vor Rom stand Trier tausenddreihundert Jahre. Möge es weiter bestehen und sich eines ewigen Friedens erfreuen.“)

Sagenhaftes Trier:
Nach dem 1526 in Abensberg erschienenen Werk, “Die Bayrische Chronik”, behauptet Johannes Turmair, daß Tuitsch oder Tuisto von 2214 bis 2038 v. Chr. regiert haben und ein Sohn Noahs gewesen sein soll. Sein Sohn Mannus soll der Vater von Trebeta gewesen sein, der der Legende nach Trier gründete. König Ninus und Mannus sind dieselbe Person— Mannus war der deutsche Name für Ninus. Dies würde bedeuten,daß Ninus oder Mannus mit Assur identisch war, und daß Assurs Vater Sem, der Sohn Noahs, niemand anderes war als der deutsche Tuitsch oder Tuisto. - Das dtV Lexikon führt über “Tuisto” aus:
“[Nach Tacitus, ‘Germania’] sei bei den Germanen der erste Mensch, erdentsprossen …Sein Sohn führt die Bezeichnung ‘Mannus’ (d.h. der Mensch).”
........................... und da unten vor uns liegt die sagenhaft alte Stadt Trebetas, des Sohnes von Mannus alias Ninus, Enkel von Sem, Urenkel von Noah ...........................
Legendary Trier:
According to the works "Die Bayrische Chronik", which was published 1526 in Abensberg, Johannes Turmair claims that Tuitsch or Tuisto had ruled from 2214 to 2038 BC and was said to be a son of Noah. His son Mannus is supposed to be the father of Trebeta, who - according to the legend - founded Trier. King Ninus and Mannus are the same person - Mannus was the German name of Ninus. This would mean that Ninus or Mannus was identical with Assur, and that Assurs' father Sem, the son of Noah, was none other than the German Tuitsch or Tuisto. - The DTV lexicon says about "Tuisto" (actually it is written in German, see above):"[According to Tacitus, 'Germania'] The first human being on earth arised at the Teutons ... His son has the name 'Mannus' (ie the human being)."
