Hot on the heels of Darley Girl's CITO success story it is time to clean up another of our local patches that's in need of a bit of TLC :D
The event will start at 10am and with enough of us turning up will all be finished by 11am which is coincidentally when the local hostelry opens!!!
I am still in liaison with NE Lincs council as to what equipment they will provide so will give an update nearer the time via an event announcement.
Scartho Recreation Ground is a lovely place for the whole family with a brand new park, lots of green space and a nice little copse at the back which is home to Viking Trail Number 5. Lots of people have commented in the logs left for us about the litter in the area so I thought we could all meet and clean it up.
For anyone that has not done them already, the village of Scartho is also home to Viking Trail 1,2,3,4 and 5, Welcome Back and the Viking Trail Mystery. Near to the rec is also one Marge GBC's Church View caches and Salmoncard's Small Cache, Small Woods so there will be a good opportunity for everyone to grab a couple of caches too.
The published co-ords are for the CITO meeting point.
Parking is available on St Giles Avenue and then cut through the footpath onto the Rec - I will be waiting near there with the equipment for the clean up. After we have cleaned up there will be a draw for FTF who may also win a special (but not valuable, so don't get too excited) prize.
Please bring plenty of water as it could be thirsty work and also bring anti bacterial gel if you have it. The CO will have a first aid kit with him on the day in case of any minor injuries.
This CITO event is being backed by NE Lincs Council who will be coming to collect all the rubbish that we gather on the day.
For anyone who has not got transport the rec is easily accessible from the main Scartho bus route.
